In the fall of each year, we start hearing about the colors and styles that decorators and companies expect to be popular during the next calendar year. That’s already happening now, even though it’s still hot as Hades in central Arkansas. I thought you might be interested in weighing in on some of these opinions, because that’s all they are – opinions. I don’t always agree with what they choose, and you may not either, so let me know your thoughts.
Paint Colors
Sherwin Williams just announced their picks for paint colors in 2020. I agree with some, disagree with some, and I just need to find the right accent wall or piece for some colors. What do you think?
Colors We Use
Our interior walls all year have been Agreeable Gray with the trim painted Extra White. Home buyers are loving these colors, and they look great with the stainless steel appliances that are so popular, too. Pops of color appear on our front doors, sometimes on shutters. These are usually a plum or turquoise. What color is your front door? Our exterior color is usually a Collonade Gray. These are all Sherwin Williams paint color names.
If you visit any Sherwin Williams store with pictures in hand, the in-store designed will be happy to help you pick out complementary colors for your home, rooms, and trim. I love how easy it is to find exactly what we need with their help.
2019 Paint Colors
In case you missed last year’s chosen paint colors, here they are, so you can see how they’ve changed in twelve months.

Sherwin Williams 2019 Paint Colors
You’ll notice the colors we’ve been using are not there. I think trends start on the coast lines and move toward the middle of the USA. Only early adopters jump on these coastal trends, and sometimes they never take hold here. I do think some of these colors they chose for both 2019 and 2020 are lovely, so I’ll see if i can incorporate them in some of our staging decor.
What do you think? I’d love to know.
