We just finished our latest flip house, and it is gorgeous. This 1,538 sf house sits on a half acre at 5017 Ackerman Drive in Little Rock, AR. With four bedrooms and two full baths, there’s room for a large family, inside and out. The fourth bedroom, of course, can be any bonus room you might ever want or need, and there’s a large workshop with electricity in the backyard, so this home is perfect for so many families.
NETWORKING
We bought this home from sisters who inherited the home from their grandparents. I met the sisters through a friend who I met in BNI and a local women’s group. The house had never been significantly updated, so they knew it needed work in order to list it on the MLS, so they sold it to us instead of repairing and selling it themselves.
OPENING WALLS
When we walked through the home prior to purchasing it, it felt a little like a maze. Lots of walls separated each room, making the house seem smaller than it was. Once we bought it, we removed a load-bearing wall between the living room and kitchen, which immediately opened up the floor plan in a delightful way. We also removed cabinetry above a counter space that separated the kitchen from the dining room. That created an open concept space from the living room to the kitchen to the dining room. Additionally, it created a breakfast bar, where folks could eat right on the counter between the dining room and kitchen.
MORE UPDATES
New appliances are always fun to shop for and install. In this home, we added a five-burner gas range. Even though this a starter home, someone is really going to enjoy these brand new appliances, granite counters and back splash. The updated cabinetry includes new paint as well as updated pulls and handles. This just makes the look cohesive.
New paint, flooring and lights finishes out the entire house. The bathrooms also get new granite counter tops and updated cabinetry. I love how the house looks great room to room.
I could imagine adults sitting out in the backyard and kids catching lightning bugs at twilight. The workshop with electricity is just a bonus, plus there’s room to park your toys, extra vehicles, or RV in the fenced in back yard.
All of this for just $110,000. By the time this blog posts, we may have already sold this property. If not, call right away to see it.
