After you’ve done all the BIG things to pretty up your home – painting the walls, updating the floors, and more, it’s just time to clean it up. This just isn’t the most fun part of making your home pretty, but it’s essential to finishing the project. Here’s a few ideas to make the work more bearable, maybe even fun.
Make Your Own Cleaner
Your home has a lot of glass, porcelain and tile to clean. Instead of buying a case of cleaner, you can save money by making your own. Add a teaspoon of dish soap to four liters of water and 100 ml of white vinegar. You are on the way to a sparkling home.
Budget Your Time
If you have a lot of cleaning in a short amount of time, it will help to plan the project in blocks of time before you start. That allows you to break the project down into manageable time periods, and see the work getting done, even with breaks built in.
Keep Trash Bags on You
Tuck trash bags in your waistband or pocket, so you can pull one out whenever you need it for trash or just gathering things together to move somewhere else. This speeds up the work, when you eliminate running in and out of rooms to get them.
Cleaning your home is likely the least enjoyable part of the process, but if you follow these tips, you can at least make it more better. Stay focused on the work to be done. And, maybe these ideas have allowed you to brainstorm more ideas of your own. If so, please share your ideas in the comments below.
