The decision to buy a home is one of the biggest financial decisions most of us make. Once in a while, we meet someone who either purchased a home as one of their very first adult purchases or they were gifted a family home, but that’s the exception to the rule. Most of us start our adult years renting a place, then purchasing our first home at a later time.
When we were dating, I was still living with my parents, and my husband was renting an apartment with a roommate. As part of our wedding plans, we purchased a mobile home, where we started our married life. Several years later, we’d lived in two different mobile homes, one apartment and a couple rental houses. We bought our first home, and we paid it off before buying our next home. All of those decisions just happened, but there are ways to make an analytical question about whether buying or renting is the best choice at any given time.
Here’s some things to consider: Does your job require you to move often? If so, renting probably is your best choice at this time. If you’re planning to raise your family in the local area, buying a house is probably a good idea. A couple of decades ago, most Americans planned to buy their own home eventually. But, as times have changed, fewer and fewer Americans now believe they can own a home. If that’s still your dream, here’s a way to achieve that goal.
You Deserve Your Own House
Here’s a calculator that will help you analyze whether now is a good time to purchase a home. But, that’s just a decision. Sometimes you need help completing the details necessary to buy that first home. I’d like to introduce you to my friend, Patrick Dennis, a mortgage lender with the Bank of Little Rock Mortgage. Even though he’s based in Little Rock, he can help any American in the US. You’ll have a brief chat with Patrick, complete the authorizations to allow him to examine your credit, and he’ll make a plan for you to buy a home. In your next chat, he’ll give you a step by step plan to buy your home. If buying a home is on your bucket list, make the call … and tell Patrick, Judy Best sent you! It’s so much fun to help others, so I hope you make this call.
